LOWTeq GmbH is expanding its horizons. We have recently formed an AI team and started a journey to integrate AI solutions into our well-established healthcare platform.
With more than 40 employees, LOWTeq GmbH is one of the leading German manufacturers of patient data management systems (PDMS) in the German-speaking region for emergency medicine, operative medicine and intensive care medicine with its super-specialization.
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in generative AI and time series foundation models to join our AI team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and deploying advanced AI models to enhance our healthcare platform's predictive capabilities. The position is available in Cologne, with the option for a remote setup.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will join our AI Team and play an important role in developing our deployment infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Package, deploy, test, and monitor machine learning models to ensure performance and reliability using technologies like NVIDIA Triton.
- Develop automated systems for model training, retraining, and deployment to improve efficiency using GitHub Actions.
- Implement containerization using Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployment processes.
- Leverage streaming technologies such as Kafka for real-time data processing.
- Work with databases, writing SQL queries to manage and analyze time series data.
- Utilize cloud platforms like AWS for machine learning tasks, ensuring scalability and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into our healthcare platform.
To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical team.
- At least 3 years of practical programming experience (Python/C++/Java).
- Proficiency in Linux with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Strong background in working with databases (SQL), ML tools (PyTorch, NVIDIA Triton), cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and streaming technologies (Kafka).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in developing and deploying generative AI models, particularly for time series data within the healthcare domain.
- Background or interest in developing healthcare solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a creative mindset.
