💼 About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be our first Data Scientist hire. You will work closely with Felix (Founding Software Engineer) and our Product Designer in a three-person team to build and ship the first 'Google of healthcare infrastructure,' enabling Clinical Operations teams to confidently deliver clinical trials to the right clinics and patients based on highly curated data and AI-driven recommendations.

Yendou is the first Data Intelligence-empowered CRM designed to help R&D teams at life sciences companies scale and accelerate the allocation of cancer clinical trials in clinics, globally.

You might have heard this before: It takes 12 years and $800 million to bring a cancer therapeutic to the market.

But you know what the outsiders don't know?

More than 1/3 of this 12-year timeline (4.6 years) and 22% of the clinical trials costs are spent on the process of clinical trial allocation to clinics.

To solve this problem…

We are creating the first CRM for Pharma, like Salesforce, but with a list of ready-to-go qualified prospects. No more hunting for doctors or hospitals, now they are all on Yendou and companies can shorten the selection timeline by 12 months.

Yendou has raised $1.3M to date from B2Ventures, Heartfelt_, and Industry Angels.

Tasks
  • Build and deploy new models and constantly iterate on core risk models by developing new features, evaluating different modeling techniques and create differentiated strategies for each customer segment
  • Manage large datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the modeling process
  • Evaluate new private and/or public data sources; interact with vendors to assess external data products
  • Monitor model performance and proactively identify model deficiencies
  • Collaborate closely with product and GTM to align data science effort with business goals; provide timely support for questions or issues impacting customer experience or credit results
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize data infrastructure and workflows
  • Prepare documentation and reports for model development and validation processes; ensure model compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management standards
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in advanced statistical modeling with strong technical skills, preferably in both model development and deployment
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
  • Experienced with machine learning concept and risk modeling techniques such as regression, decision trees and boosting; experience with building data products using LLM is strongly preferred
  • Strong skill set with Python (including sklearn, pandas, numpy, etc.) and SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly explain data science work and collaborate with stakeholders to execute
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a relentless drive; enjoy a fast-paced and results-driven culture
  • Excel and enjoy a collaborative and in-person workplace
  • Comfortable with handling ambiguity and creating processes from scratch. We are growing fast and still learning
  • A demonstrated ability to get stuff done. In an ideal world, you’ve worked in a fast-growing company and know what we should be doing today, in one year, and in two years

🛣️ What does the hiring process look like?

We will usually respond to applicants before the end of the week, and within 72 hours of each interview.

  2. Intro call (~15 minutes) with CTO: Both candidate and Yendou get to know each other.
  3. Resume Review (45 minutes) with CTO: Go through your portfolio and have a discussion.
  4. Case Study interview (5 - 6h; Delivery timeline: 48hrs): Time to show your strategic and execution skills, tackeling an exciting real world problem.
  5. A work trial (7h): Work trials are designed to help both sides make the right decision. The work trial is Onsite at our Berlin office
