Vietnam Operations

We are supporting a rapidly growing German engineering company that specialises in taking electronic products from concept to mass production. Tasks About the Role We are looking for a Vietnam-based Operations & Supplier Manager who will be the key person on the ground: Manage and develop suppliers (focus on HCMC area) Coordinate freelancers and support building a local team Drive day-to-day operations, logistics, and processes Use ClickUp and modern project management to keep work structured and transparent Communicate daily in English with the international team The role starts as freelance / independent contractor with a clear growth path toward a future Country / Subsidiary Manager position for the right person. What You Will Do Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and manufacturing partners in Vietnam (electronics, mechanics, or related engineering fields) Request and consolidate quotations, prices, lead times and track supplier performance Visit suppliers on-site around Ho Chi Minh City, follow up on production and quality issues Coordinate freelancers in Vietnam: tasks, timelines, hours, quality, HR Use ClickUp as the main tool to: Plan and prioritise tasks Track progress and deadlines Maintain templates, SOPs, dashboards, and KPIs Prepare weekly status updates in English for the international management team Communicate clearly with local suppliers (Vietnamese) and international stakeholders (English) Act with a high level of integrity and professionalism (no kickbacks / side deals) Grow over time into a leadership role managing the future local entity and team Requirements What We Are Looking For Based in Vietnam, ideally in or near Ho Chi Minh City 3+ years of experience in: Supplier management / sourcing / procurement, or Operations / project management in a technical environment, or Manufacturing / production in electronics or mechanics Very good to excellent English (spoken and written) and fluent Vietnamese Strong communication skills and the ability to work with international teams Experience with ClickUp or similar tools (Jira, Asana, Monday, etc.) and willingness to become a ClickUp power user Strong project management skills: structured, reliable, good at tracking tasks, deadlines, and KPIs Used to working independently, taking ownership and responsibility Comfortable working as an independent contractor / freelancer with your own equipment Benefits Long-term freelance collaboration with competitive hourly compensation Work with a modern, international engineering company High level of autonomy and responsibility from day one Clear career perspective to grow into a Country / Subsidiary Manager role in Vietnam
