Your responsibilities
- Propagation, and cryopreservation of cells, including primary human cells from commercial and/or patient sources in a BSLII environment
- Culturing primary epithelial cells from frozen or fresh normal and tumor tissues
- Culturing and passaging spheroid and organoid epithelial cells
- Cell-based assays (cell imaging, flow cytometry assays, killing assays etc.)
- RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot
- Transformation, Miniprep, Maxiprep
- Transfection, Transduction
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records, analyze data, and generate comprehensive reports
- Draft SOPs
- Lab management tasks such as receiving and inventory of laboratory consumables
- Preparation and aliquoting of media and reagents
- Preparation of lab consumables (e.g. coating of cell culture vessels)
- Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory instruments
- Coordination of maintenance for laboratory instruments with service contracts.
- Autoclaving and waste disposal
Our requirements
- Masters degree in life sciences, Biology or related field
- Strong background in cell biology including primary human cell culture from commercial and patient sources in a BSLII environment
- also strong background in cancer biology
- experience in ropagation and cryopreservation of 2D and 3D primary cell culture
- deep understanding of quality Control specifications of cultured cells like STR analysis, Karyotype, mycoplasma etc.
- Fluent in English and German
