Join **University Hospital Würzburg** as a **Postdoctoral Researcher (M/F/d) **in our cutting-edge research on genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic alterations in childhood cancers. We are seeking a passionate and driven Postdoctoral Scientist to support our projects, focusing on immunoregulatory mechanisms in childhood cancer dysregulation.
Successful applicant will study interactions between immune and leukemic cells, and explore the developmental origins, heterogeneity, and the plasticity of leukemic cells, using multi-omic single-cell sequencing techniques, specifically scRNA-Seq and scATAC-Seq. The aim of the project is to improve our understanding of relapse-driving mechanisms in leukemia, and aid in identification of potential biomarkers, or therapeutic targets, in order to improve patient risk-stratification and identify new treatment strategies.

**Your Tasks**:
- Perform single-cell analysis (primarily multiome) to identify functionally relevant regions and associated genes.
- Analyze and evaluate large genetic, epigenetic, and clinical data sets for the study of childhood cancer immunoregulatory mechanisms.
- Integrate research findings with clinical data to develop novel biomarkers and diagnostic assays for clinical use.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists to translate research from bench to bedside.
- Coordinate the DKH-funded project, "Understanding and Preventing Relapse in Children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia."
**Your Profile**:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Medicine, or related fields.
- Strong background in molecular biology.
- Experience in establishing novel molecular methods.
- Highly motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and German.
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.
This position is initially limited to 3 years with the potential for extension. Part-time work is possible. Compensation will be based on the Collective Agreement for Federal States (TV-L), depending on your qualifications and experience.
