Final Thesis

In the past decades, the share of installed external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) has increased significantly due to energy requirements. Currently, there is a significant increase in ETICS waste for which no established recycling strategy exists yet. For this reason, Fraunhofer UMSICHT is developing an innovative recycling technology with the pyrolysis process in order to process ETICS in the sense of the circular economy and to make the secondary raw materials obtained industrially usable.

**What you will do**
- Research of English and German technical literature
- Carrying out test series on a laboratory and pilot plant scale
- Analysis of products and interpretation of results
- Determination of optimization potential and implementation of appropriate measures
- Clear and evaluative documentation and summary of research results

**What you bring to the table**

Must have:

- Independent and confident way of working
- High commitment and interest in technical and sustainable issues
- Degree in environmental engineering, process engineering, energy technology, chemistry, chemical engineering or comparable fields of study

- Good knowledge of English
