The Ruhr
- Universität Bochum is one of the leading research universities in Germany. It is part of the University Alliance Ruhr, Germany’s largest academic hub, home to more than 120000 students, 14000 researchers and 20 Collaborative Research Centres. ns-pulsed and ns-time modulated (RF) plasmas at close to atmospheric pressures are studied in the frame of the CRC 1316 at RUB. Various emission spectroscopic technique (streak camera, ICCD, photographic imaging as well laser electric field measurements (EFISH) are applied. Kinetic models for the interaction of charged species with atoms and molecules as well as plasma models support the experimental investigations.

- Investigation of transient near atmospheric pressure plasmas by use of various emission and laser spectroscopic techniques. In particular, collisional interactions between the various constituents of the plasma and the gas as well as the interaction with surfaces should be studied.
- The tasks include detailed analysis of the data and development of physical models for their interpretation.
- Close collaboration with the project team and colleagues within the group as well as with other colleagues within the CRC1316 and external collaboration partners is expected.
- The results should be published in international scientific journals and presented on national and international conferences and meetings.
**Your profile**:
- A PhD in plasma physics and experience with spectroscopy on atmospheric pressure plasmas is required.
