**Duties**:

- Use student achievement data and related data to make decisions regarding the school improvement plan, teacher professional develop requirements, and programmatic changes.
- Establish DoDEA educator performance elements and evaluates teacher work.
- Initiate communication between school administration, students, teachers, parents, the local community, and base offices that provide services to the school and/or staff.
- Serve as the responsible officer for all government
- owned or leased property assigned to the school.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Two-year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Two-year supervisory probation period may be required.
- This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
- You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoDDS or DDESS location.
- Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.
- A secret security clearance is required.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Education Requirements for a Principal**:
A Master's degree in Educational Administration/Educational Leadership with a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate level course work in school administration
- OR
- A Master's degree reflecting 45 semester hours of graduate level course. Of the required 45 hours of graduate level course work, a minimum of 30 of those semester hours must be Educational Administration/Educational Leadership.
- In addition to the requirements listed above, you must also meet the requirements listed below:
**General Experience Requirements for a Principal**:A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching, specialist, or other professional educatorexperience at the Pre-K -12 level is required.**Specialized Experience Requirements for a Principal**:A minimum of two years appropriate experience (elementary and/or secondary) in a staff or supervisory position which clearly demonstrated the ability to administer school educational programs and to effectively supervise educators and support personnel. No more than one year of experience in positions that did not involve actual school administration will be credited as specialized experience.**Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement**: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards as a Principal, Elementary (category 1021).- You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
- Human Capital Management
- Instructional Program Administration
- Learning and Program Evaluation
- Partnering

- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
- Applicants who have family members with special medical needs should ensure that prior to accepting a position overseas their family members' medical needs can be met. Access to care in a military treatment facility may not be available to civilian employees except on a space available basis. Consequently, host nation medical facilities may be the only care available. The availability and level of care at host nation medical facilities will vary by location.
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
- Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
- Selectees recruited outside the U.S. will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire.
