Your Profile

We are looking for a person with a university degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biology or related fields of study.

**In addition we expect**:

- PhD in pharmacy, chemistry, molecular or microbiology or related fields
- Field of work/research Pharmaceutical biotechnology with a focus on fermentation for the production of recombinant molecules or natural products
- Research activities in the last 5 years
- Experience in obtaining third-party and/or public funding
- Development of fermentation processes
- Establishment of vectors and host-vector systems based on DNA recombination technology
- Development and microbiology of production strains (selection and cultivation)

We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.

The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.

Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.

We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.

German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language ist mainly German.

The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
