Required Qualifications:
- Student of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in solid mechanics.
- Strong skills in Python or a similar programming language.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of material mechanics with a focus on plasticity and damage mechanics.
- Experience in modeling using Abaqus software.
- Experience in mechanical testing and microstructural analysis.
**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on material models.
- Support in the development and optimization of simulation tools and algorithms (Python, Fortran).
- Support in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of experiments.
- Assist with technical drawings using CAD.
- Preparation of reports and presentations as well as literature research.
**What We Offer**:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of one year.
Further employment is intended.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13,25 € per hour.
