**Philanthropy Assistant**

Bard College Berlin is hiring a Philanthropy Assistant to support its development and fundraising department, which plays a crucial role in the advancement of the public visibility and awareness of the college as well as the further expansion of its curriculum and facilities.

The Philanthropy Assistant will be located in Berlin. The position reports to the Director of Philanthropy and will work closely with the Major Gifts Officer and the Director of Public Programs and Strategic Initiatives in Berlin and the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs at Bard College in Annandale (NY).

**Responsibilities include**:

- Administer and coordinate public and private grants such as DFG, DAAD, Volkswagen, Philip-Schwarz-Initiative and others
- Administer private and foundational pledges and donations and coordinate with the finance departments in Berlin and Annandale
- Schedule and document weekly Philanthropy meetings with colleagues from Bard Berlin and Annandale
- Organize and execute events and mailings
- Maintain donor, prospect and donations database
- Occasionally assist the Bard College Berlin Freundeskreis
- Manage Twingle donation tool

**Requirements**:

- A BA degree and a fluency in both German (native speaker) and English
- Strong organizational, writing and communication/interpersonal skills
- A good working knowledge of Excel and an affinity for numbers
- A background in administration and experience in grant and project cycle management is a valuable asset
- An interest in international education
