**Senior Scientist I (all genders) Biomarker discovery, Neuroscience Discovery**

**Key Objectives**:

- Independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments to discover and validate target
- and disease-specific biomarkers in biological samples (CSF, plasma, tissues)
- Identify scientific approaches and methodologies with high impact on AbbVie projects and implement them by own experimental work.
- Effectively collaborate and align with colleagues in cross-functional and global teams
- Efficiently compile and clearly present scientific plans and data

**Education and Qualification**:

- PhD in biochemistry, biology, neuroscience or related field; Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience
- High motivation to advance projects primarily by own experimental work in the lab
- Hands-on expertise in assay development for protein detection and quantification in biological samples using highly sensitive platforms (e.g. digital ELISA) is highly desired
- Hands-on expertise in development and analysis of targeted mass spectrometry assays for protein quantification (e.g. PRM or MRM) is desired. Experience in biomarker discovery using omics approaches would be an additional benefit
- Well versed in biochemical methodologies
- Knowledge on lysosomal or mitochondrial biology in neurodegenerative diseases would be a plus
- High scientific rigor and commitment to provide robust and high-quality results
- Ability to effectively work in a team of scientists in a highly collaborative matrix environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in English (written and oral)
