**About the Role**

The Sr. Director will also provide leadership to and manage a team of business professionals to include coaching, mentoring, and professional development. An important aspect of the job will include collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop and refine HARMAN’s strategic sustainability goals and programs. The Sr. Director will also identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats to meeting HARMAN’s corporate sustainability and ESG objectives.

**Your Team**

This role has two direct reports and reports into the VP, Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability.

**What You Will Do**
- Overall responsibility for long term corporate strategy development, based on impact, risk & opportunities assessment, and for corporate target setting.
- Identify, advise on, influence, and implement Harman’s Corporate Sustainability and ESG strategy.
- Track the company’s progress for each ESG initiative and report such to senior leadership on a regular basis.
- Manage external ESG reporting and disclosure activities and ensures means to increase information relevance and quality.
- Support HARMAN’s corporate sustainability program including budget process and roadmap development.
- Develop corporate sustainability & ESG capabilities and increase HARMAN’s expertise with regards to carbon accounting practices and sustainability & ESG policies.
- Responsible for identifying, advising on, and mitigating legal risks related to global sustainability & ESG laws and regulations, such as EU CSRD and EU CS3D.
- Advise and inform HARMAN ESG Committee and other internal leaders on priority of sustainability issues and overall program performance.
- Drive and manage global ESG program governance forums and mechanisms to ensure regular and effective cross-functional coordination, communication, and visibility.
- Manage environmental dashboards at corporate level and responsible for compiling, quality review, overseeing audit/verification process and driving continuous improvement of HARMAN’s environmental data, reporting and related processes.
- Support the design, content, and production of HARMAN’s sustainability report.
- Lead corporate reporting and disclosure activities (e.g., CDP, Ecovadis).
- Point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding annual ESG performance data and information. Effectively support relevant functions with ESG performance information.
- Drive implementation and integration of technologies, systems and tools to foster ESG data excellence.
- Serve as dedicated interface between Harman and parent company Samsung on ESG program synergy and alignment opportunities.
- Advise internal stakeholders such as Supply Chain Risk Management, Procurement, Manufacturing to track progress of HARMAN’s sustainability program.
- Build external community networks and communicate as the representative of Harman’s ESG program in broader industry forums and engagements.
- Manage external consultants and supporting relationships with membership-based organizations (RBA etc.).
- Provide training to divisions and functions to both educate on sustainability best practices and drive a culture of sustainability within HARMAN.

**What You Need**
- Graduate level law degree.
- At least 10 years’ experience working in large, global, highly matrixed and dynamic organization.
- Proven track record implementing strategic sustainability initiatives and programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of best-in-class sustainability, sourcing and procurement practices.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Outstanding communication, presentation skills, and leadership skills, including, but not limited to: planning, problem-solving and decision making.
- Ability to lead and drive complex operational projects.
- Must be innovative, creative and have experience driving results.
- Strong research skills and ability to evaluate and assess complex topics and creatively solve problems.
- Ability to interpret and implement ESG frameworks and regulations.
- Strategically minded, and commercially astute with a proven capacity to translate information and ideas into actionable plans.
- Experience engaging with and communicating to key internal and external stakeholders, across a variety of initiatives and industry forums.
- Experience communicating to audiences with the willingness to represent the company’s interests at the highest levels.
