Das CiiM sucht zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt einen Postdoc im Bereich Computergestützte Biologie oder Bioinformatik.
Das Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung GmbH (HZI) ist Mitglied der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren, der größten Wissenschaftsorganisation in Deutschland.
Die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler des HZI entwickeln Strategien zur besseren Bekämpfung von Infektionskrankheiten. Ihr Ziel ist es, neue Ansätze für die Prävention, Diagnose und Therapie von Infektionskrankheiten zu entwickeln. Dazu erforschen sie bakterielle und virale Krankheitserreger und deren Wechselwirkung mit dem Immunsystem und erkunden neue Wirkstoffe.
Die Abteilung „Computational Biology for Individualised Medicine“ untersucht die Interaktion von genetischem Hintergrund und Umwelt und deren Beitrag zu Infektionen und immunbedingten Krankheiten. Sie konzentriert sich auf die Anwendung und Entwicklung computergestützter und statistischer Ansätze zur Untersuchung der Auswirkungen genetischer Faktoren auf verschiedene molekulare Ebenen (wie Genetik, Genomik, Metabolomik usw.), immunologische Parameter und Funktionen sowie auf komplexe Krankheiten.
