Program Buyer

**Purpose of the job**

Representing GSCM in the program launch team and providing business unit support during program launch, secure competitive bids for new sourcing nomination based on defined bidder lists, new product launch coordination, leading early supplier involvement, value analysis/value engineering, and leading supplier, launch coordination with local manufacturing sites in alignment with global commodity strategies. Align tooling payment terms, material & logistics protocol, risk assessment & manufacturability reviews, daily ECM delegation.

**Responsibilities**

1. Secure comp bids, est price comparison forms to determine costs for projects; New, Current and Projects in costing phase.
2. Lead supplier selection meeting in alignment with global purchasing commodity strategies and new product performance requirements.
3. Coordinate supplier new product introductions in support of product launches, risk & manufacturability reviews. Provide active representation on the project teams until SOP + 90 days.
4. Coordinate early supplier involvement with product and manufacturing teams / ECM filtration and delegation
5. Support improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and support lean manufacturing needs in alignment with operational expectations
6. Liaison to business units, as required.

**Requirements**:
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing related experience; prior purchasing experience minimum 3 years.
Bachelor / Master degree or equivalent in a related Business or Technical discipline in a related business;
Fluent in common language English, German languages is an advantage.
Demonstrated Program Management skills/ability with excellent analytical ability
Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
Good communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to travel, as required to support launch phases
Familiar with a range of materials and processes, e.g., steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting, cold heading, rubber and plastic
