Supply Clerk Lead

The Lead Supply Clerk coordinates activities of all supply workers receiving material, issuing material to craftsperson/customers and performing supply functions. Lead will also perform all aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization, training) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
**Essential Responsibilities**:
- Provides technical assistance in the processing of supply transaction regarding the stored inventory to ensure material requirements for short, long-range, special, and priority projects are met.
- Directs preparation of supply requisitions for approved work orders.
- Reviews listings concerning status of store stock and bench stock items.
- Maintains contact with Site Managers as to material status and actual or potential problems.
- Provides assistance to Site Managers in the development of bench stock levels.
- Searches computer files concerning on-hand assets to identify errors in inventory and selects corrective procedures to reconcile records.
- Performs continual review over the material inventory and update computer files as required.
- Monitors requisitions in the buyer's area to ensure purchases are being accomplished within the proper time frame.
- Initiates actions to correct receiving errors and then verifies that material is received.
- Monitors delinquent deliveries.
- Trains Supply personnel on SCIP requisition system, procedures, and customer relations techniques.
- Responsible for inventory management to include accountability and marking of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE) on the program. Develops hand receipts for all property and ensures equipment is signed for down to the user level.
- Maintains, establishes re-order points for all consumable products for the program. Establishes hand receipts for any property received from the USG, or Amentum.
- The work includes requirements determination and forecasting, distribution or redistribution of material, procurement authorization, limited funds management, or other related work.
- Duties are performed on the basis of practical experience in processing and expediting supply transactions related to the particular organizations serviced.
- Writes item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels of a particular agency or field establishment.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required**:
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three year experience with ILS-S and AMRO.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must maintain a current state driver’s license and be trained to operate forklift up to 6000 pounds.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
