You will be working closely with the Head of CloudOS and members of the CloudOS Leadership, and of course the talented tech leads in our teams to create clarity and direction and help individuals and teams grow in their craft. Stakeholder communication, building understanding and support for what we do, fostering continuous improvement, and celebrating wins with the team are other key responsibilities.

**What You'll Do**

Your job in this Expert role is to make sure that the teams you work with have a clear long-term technical direction to work towards, focusing on two of our Cloud teams that are on a quest to reduce the hassle Delivery Teams experience with Cloud infrastructure. You will also support the teams and Tech Leads of the teams on complex and/or complicated problems and day-to-day issues.
- Carve out a vision in for the teams you work with that helps them make solid technical decisions and create value
- Align architecture and architectural decisions cross-group or cross-team and maintain clear principles
- Facilitate standardization and harmonization of practices and conventions where those add value
- Act as the high-level expert for “first contact” with other groups on strategic technical concerns
- Build a mindset and community around cloud native practices whenever you work with other teams
- Foster an Engineering Excellence mindset and support the continuous improvement loop on Engineering practices across all CloudOS

**What You'll Bring**
- 10+ years in engineering roles, including 5+ years of Cloud expertise and 5+ years of being in a technical leadership role
- Hands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure in production environments, and with technologies that simplify consumption (e.g., Crossplane)
- The ability to create a technical vision, and distil and filter the latest trends in Cloud Native into a clear direction
- A passion for Cloud Native and developer experience, and strong motivation and toolset to help us channel the diverse needs of delivery teams into progress on our path to Platform Engineering
- Communication and facilitation skills that allow you to translate between different types of stakeholders, adjust to different audiences and build relationships within and without the team
- The ability to guide conversations with multiple viewpoints towards a constructive outcome
- A willingness to contribute on our journey from our startup heritage to our SAP Signavio future - which sometimes means having to reconcile the larger corporate picture or processes with our own desire for speed and experimentation (we know this isn’t easy)
- A bonus but not required is good understanding of database infrastructure

The platform group is one of five groups in the engineering department of SAP Signavio, and our CloudOS teams are responsible for cloud and database infrastructure, shared infrastructure services,and Security Operations, with a goal of providing an effective Internal Developer Platform.
