The Dept. of Visceral, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the University Hospital Dresden is one of the leading surgical departments for cancer treatment in Europe. Implemented within the department is the Surgical Research Lab, which links molecular science with patient oriented research. The lab is part of a multidisciplinary team of laboratories specialized in oncological and stem cell research on the Dresden University Campus, nationwide and internationally.

Starting at May 1st 2023 we are looking for a highly

**Postdoctoral Fellow (f/m/x)**:
The group headed is focused on thoracic malignancies (i.e. primary and metastatic lung cancers). We are interested in the biology of malignant transformation of lung cells and their progression to cancer. We extensively use patient-derived cancer organoids to understanding the biology behind treatment response and resistance patterns. To tackle our research questions, we use state-of-the-art technologies such as CRISPR/Cas in our 3D cultures of murine and human material to functionally characterize these cells.

As part of our group you have the possibility to expand your skills in molecular biology, specifically in organoid cultures and their genetic manipulation. We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc with a strong passion for science and interested to work in a dynamic team.

**Your Profile**:

- master or equivalent degree in biology, biomedicine or related sciences
- strong background in cell biology/molecular biology
- interest in advanced cell culture methods and molecular Engineering
- fluent in written and spoken English
- interest in clinical related science
