Postdoctoral Scientist

The Molecular Cardiology lab (Head: Prof. Dr. Steffen Just) in the Department of Internal Medicine II (Medical Director: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rottbauer), is currently looking for an experienced- Postdoctoral Scientist (f/m/d) (funded for 3 years)- Das Universitätsklinikum Ulm steht mit seinen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern (w/m/d) für eine moderne Patientenversorgung mit hoher Qualität, Spitzenforschung und eine auf die Zukunft ausgerichtete medizinische Lehre sowie Ausbildung in attraktiven Berufsfeldern. Voraussetzungen dafür sind qualifizierte und engagierte Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter (w/m/d).**to decipher the genetic, epigenetic but also metabolic underpinnings of heart disease but also regenerative cardiomyocyte proliferation in mice.**
- The position is available immediately.**We expect**:

- a PhD degree in biology, biochemistry or molecular medicine or a MD degree with significant laboratory work experience
- knowledge of mouse physiology and experience in handling rodents (mice)
- FELASA B or C, or Function A and B under Art. 23 para. 2 of Directive 2010/63/EU
- experience with LAD or TAC as mouse model of cardiac disease (beneficial)
- experience in molecular and cellular biology
- excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and German (beneficial)
- experience in writing animal experiment appeals (beneficial)
- capability of working in a team as well as independently
