**Duties**:
- Work involves troubleshooting, repairing, and/or overhauling major components and systems.
- Tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on components of these systems following instructions contained in technical manuals.
- Isolates and repairs complex malfunctions which are often difficult to trace by a combination of visual and auditory examinations, and uses a wide variety of test equipment.
- Disassembles, repairs, replaces, reconditions, and rebuilds components of the various systems and makes independent judgments based on specifications in technical manuals and on accepted trade practices.
- Observes safety, sanitation and hazardous waste disposal rules and requirements. Operates vehicles to test repair and move around facility.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license as required by local/state or military
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Lifts supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Work is often performed in tiring, awkward and uncomfortable positions. Frequent standing, bending, stooping and crawling.
**Qualifications**:
- 1. Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties described above that include the skills and knowledge listed in the Job Duties
- 2. Experience with troubleshooting and repairing major automotive components such as engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, emission control systems, and related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other assemblies.
- 3. Experience with test equipment such as computerized engine analyzers, compression testers, test benches, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and special feeler and dial gauges.**Education**:

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
**FWS Allowances and Differentials**
- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.

- Incentives will not be paid.
**Foreign Overseas Allowances**
- Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
