Role and Responsibilities

**Purpose of the role**:
Provides HR support to the Directors and People Leaders across the organization in Central & Western Europe.
Execute key strategic HR initiatives in line with the global and regional business and functional objectives, creating an engaged and high-performance sustainable organization based on CAE’s values.
Manage the HR Team and have full responsibility for all HR activities including: delivery of HR strategy and policies across multiple sites, organizations, jurisdictions and legal entities, Talent Management, HR Operations, Performance Management and Culture.

**The role includes the following responsibilities**:
Assist the directors, local leadership team and people leaders with various strategic initiatives;
Establish a close partnership with the peers of the local leadership team focusing on:
Providing advice on all HR related concerns;
Acting as the single point of contact on people related issues;
A deep integration within the local leadership team;
Developing succession plans for key positions and a pipeline of top talent for the leadership team.
Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to leaders within a complex business environment across Central & Western Europe’s organization, including supporting matrixed organizations, global structures and union relations
Implement HR Strategies and initiatives in line with corporate initiatives and regional and sub-regional strategy and objectives to support the growth and development of the business and its people in a manner consistent with CAE’s business culture and values.
Lead the HR Team to deliver effectively in all aspects of HR including Talent Acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, organization development, culture & people development, compensation and benefits and payroll administration
Be an active member of the International and Global HR community and be a voice at the leadership team’s table - deliver expert consulting support to diagnose and resolve complex problems, while positively driving change
Develop and implement action plans and programs within the groups supported to ensure consistency and compatibility between business objectives, strategy and human resources
Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating policies, procedures, methods and guidelines, communicating and enforcing values
Responsible for ensuring implementation of any change programs in line with business strategy and local business needs - ensuring HR is at the forefront of change programs and initiatives with an ability to influence and build relationships

holds a University Degree preferably in HR, business or management. Professional HR designation and/or MBA would be an asset;
has eight to ten years+ of HR experience with a minimum of 5 years leading a team of HR professionals;
has a solid background in compensation, organizational development, training management, staffing and employee relations;
has a strong leadership style to drive change management initiatives;
a passion for results; constantly thinking of ways to positively impact the business in an ethical and integrity-based manner
a strong business acumen, analytical and financial knowledge to make fact-based decisions and looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications;
has the ability to create trust and be recognized as a key leader in the organization;
has the ability to work across different cultures, different time zones and working remotely with peers and groups.
