**Responsibilities**:
As the very first People Team person at SDA, your role will be to empower our people and facilitate their day-to-day work lives as we continue to grow as a company. You will be touching upon all the stages in the people lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding to compliance and administration. In addition, working with the Founders as well as an experienced external consultant in the People domain, you will be the main point of contact regarding People-related topics. More specifically, you will:

- Oversee all operational processes when it comes to the People function including managing the existing tools and systems
- Support the operational aspects of the full employment lifecycle of our employees from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between
- Manage the relationship with an external payroll provider
- Provide relocation/immigration support to our new people
- Support our recruiting efforts via sourcing and interview scheduling
- Act as the initial point of contact for employees on questions related to (but not limited to) onboarding, leave of absence, payroll, visas, work changes, etc.
- Provide high-quality customer care to increase the satisfaction of our people
- Be an ambassador for the SDA culture and play an important role in initiating and supporting projects that increase engagement, motivation, development and retention
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand gaps and challenges in current processes and programs and ultimately drive future improvements
- Manage our office space so that it feels like a great environment to work in

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Generalist experience within People Operations/Human Resources ideally in a start-up environment either via work experience or an internship
- Familiar with the administrative and compliance aspect of the German employment system
- Ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage tasks and time
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Driven and target-oriented with analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, high in empathy
- Highly organized and proactive with high attention to detail
- Can-do attitude and learning agility - open-minded with a great dose of curiosity
- Fluent English is a must. German at B2 or above is required, too

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- University degree in a related field or relevant experience
- Ideally, 3-4 years experience working on an HR or People Operations team, including experience with Slack, an HRIS and other solutions in the HR tech stack (Google Suite, DocuSign)
- An analytical mindset. Data and process are your friends, and you are comfortable navigating Google Sheets and Excel documents
