Emea Sanctions Oversight and Governance

As part of Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), the EMEA Sanctions Compliance team ensure compliance with the firm's global sanctions processes, in partnership with colleagues in line of business Compliance, US and Asia Compliance, local EMEA in-country Compliance teams, and the lines of business.
The EMEA Sanctions Oversight and Governance Team, which sits within the EMEA Sanctions Compliance Team, is responsible for regional governance including the management and reporting of blocked property and is a liaison point for sanctions related matters from lines of business and in-country Compliance. As a member of the Oversight and Governance team you will need to need to demonstrate independent decision making and judgement and be able to adapt to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment.

**Job responsibilities**
- Co-ordinate the blocking/freezing of transactions and other assets to comply with OFAC, EU, UK or other local sanctions regulations, working with colleagues across EMEA, US and Asia GFCC and other Compliance teams, local EMEA in-country Compliance, and multiple lines of business
- Prepare reports to the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) to provide information on frozen assets
- Produce key reports and metrics for local / regional / U.S. regulators, key financial crime oversight / business control meetings and In-Country Compliance
- Collaborate with regional Compliance Officers to implement Firmwide Sanctions Standards and EMEA regional sanctions service level agreements
- Coordinate EMEA Sanctions Compliance engagement for exams, external and internal audits in the region
- Keep informed of any changes to processes and procedures, regulatory change and ensure open dialogue with colleagues across the EMEA region

**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and organisational skills with ability to work independently and to tight deadlines but escalate matters as appropriate
- Ability to deliver quality work amid continuous change and high volumes
- Analytical mind and problem management skills with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly both verbally and in writing
- A quality focused work ethic and strong controls mind-set
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of UK, EU, OFAC and other sanctions programs
- Strong working knowledge of Excel / Word / PowerPoint

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Knowledge of Investment & Corporate Banking as well as Payments and Correspondent banking
- Relevant experience of Compliance activities particularly in relation to AML / Sanctions preferred
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) preferred or evidence of comparable academic / work achievement
- German language
