Junior Production Planner

The Shell Catalysts & Technologies (SC&T) organization is looking for a commercial or technical graduate with the ambition to become a production planning professional within the next few years and work as part of a global team. In this role you will be trained to become fully responsible for all planning and scheduling of production at the Leuna, Germany plant.

SC&T provides leading catalysts, technical services and licensed process technologies to refiners, gas treating facilities and chemical plants around the world. What sets us apart from some other licensors and consultants is the knowledge we have gained from our corporate heritage as the owner and operator of large, complex industrial process plants. Our technologies, catalysts and integrated solutions reflect our many years of experience in designing, building and operating such facilities.

**What’s the role?**

As a **Junior Production Planner** you will work across different functions & disciplines within Operations, Technical, Engineering, Sales, Projects / Turnaround, HSSE and others in order to be successful within this role.

Your key responsibilities will grow over time and mainly include:

- Coordinate customer orders, process capability, raw materials, and product shipments to ensure customer satisfaction and business profitability.
- Maintain adequate supplies of raw materials on-site to ensure the plant can efficiently and effectively process all supply-demand as required.
- Develop and maintain a viable and efficient site production schedule.
- Provide Supply Chain direction from MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and receipt of raw materials, production planning and scheduling, warehousing, and distribution of products to achieve operational excellence, reduce costs, and meet customer requirements.
- Champion the implementation of Supply Chain strategies to accomplish local objectives.
- Manage the Slow Moving and Off Grade (SMOG) inventory by leading a team to identify opportunities and execute action plans that result in reducing this quantity.
- Maintain relationships with raw material suppliers to ensure adequate raw material supply and keep a database of vendor emergency contacts.

**What we need from you?**

We’re keen to hear from motivated Graduates with the following attributes and experiences:

- University level qualification (Bachelor / Master degree) in a commercial or technical area
- First practical experience in the areas of Supply Chain, Material Management or Production Planning would be beneficial
- Strong knowledge of tool usage, such as Excel (Advanced level) or SAP
- Strong problem solving and project management skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Bilingual in English and German at business fluency level is an absolute must have
- The role is expected to work out of the production site in Leuna (Eastern part of Germany, close to Halle and Leipzig)
