Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee financial management for the key markets of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe.

This position is a fixed contract.

The Finance Director will lead a function which needs to actively support the business in decision making through the provision of accurate, more transparent, and timely management information and analysis, while also improving controls. The Finance Director will provide steady leadership, business support and clarity of direction. This role will have 2 direct reports located in Berlin, while at the same time will have extensive interaction with shared service functional teams.

The Finance Director will report directly to the Group Finance Director of EMEA (located in UK), and work very closely on a day-to-day basis with the country heads with the DACH region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the overall management, direction, and integrity of the accounting, finance, systems, and financial reporting functions for the DACH region
- Lead the analysis of financial results and business trends for the region
- Drive the definition and consistent reporting of the appropriate set of Key Metrics and KPIs for the region
- Leading monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasting, reporting and planning activities for the organization
- Support the country Heads of Sales in a business partnership role to continuously improve the organization’s financial performance
- Responsible for the annual accounts, taxes, audits and compliance matters for all legal entities
- Providing direction to the finance staff
- Overseeing the monthly financial close process for the region
- Leading the production and preparation of monthly reporting packages, variance analysis, commentaries and presentations as required.
- Managing the weekly Sales forecast
- Managing the sales commission process
- Evaluating the effectiveness of Sales investments and spending through ROI analysis
- Review existing processes and champion business process improvements within the organization
- Fulfil requests from Corporate teams including Tax, Treasury, Financial Reporting and Internal Audit/SOX
- Support internal and external audit teams in the execution of financial and operational audits
- Contribute to company-wide finance initiatives including integration of ERP systems and implementation of new financial reporting / financial planning tools

**Requirements**:

- A university degree and professional accounting designation is required, plus 8+ years of progressive and diverse experience in a financial environment.
- Fluent German and English speaker
- Strong communicator who is able to forge strong working relationships across the organization.
- A demonstrable track record of successfully leading teams and managing through business change
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable position with an international company group (matrix organization)
- Highly analytical skills and a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get things done
- Exceptionally strong communication and presentation skills
- The desire and ability to add value while also challenging colleagues in an effective and constructive way to facilitate good decision making
- Experience in a technology company is an advantage
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and re-prioritize as necessary to align with current business
- Good SAP / R3 FI & SAP Business Objects knowledge would be an asset
