**Senior Bioinformatician (f/m/d) - NGS Expert**

In this position, you will be working within an interdisciplinary team with the goal to further develop our RNA technology. Your expertise will support research in generating key insights into RNA biology as the basis of future product developments.

Your responsibilities:

- Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis from various platforms such as e.g., Illumina, Oxford Nanopore,
- Evaluate new databases and bioinformatics software tools increasing our possibilities to perform NGS based experiments to address various scientific questions
- Collaborate with scientists to design and execute experiments and data analysis strategies
- Evaluate the latest developments in bioinformatics tools and techniques for NGS data analysis
- Perform sequence analysis on various levels (transcriptomic & genomic) to support various levels of our process development
- Conceptualize and run data analysis on various sequence based data we obtained internally and externally
- Draft reports and present results to a broad audience of scientists

Your qualification:

- PhD or M.Sc. in bioinformatics, molecular biology, computer science, biostatistics or equivalent qualification
- Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, computational biology with a clear focus on data handling
- Experience in an industry environment is a plus
- Broad knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines and tools
- Experience with genomic databases and bioinformatics software tools such as BWA, Bowtie, SAMtools and further
- Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques for NGS data analysis
- Handling of statistical analysis, data visualizations and use of programming languages such as R, Python or Perl
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
