Our Enterprise Analytics Platform provides a stable and secure big data platform and tools across the enterprise. This group is now looking to expand our core data-enabling capabilities to unleash the value of the Company's data assets to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. In addition, we are advancing our journey to Cloud (GCP).

We are using a combination of vendor-supported Enterprise Hadoop technologies coupled with Cloud-native services and use automation for efficiency and accuracy.

As a Big Data Platform Architect (f/m/x), you will be shaping the future of the bank’s data analytics platform transitioning it to a hybrid cloud model.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Ensure effective implementation of system architectures including security and data governance features employing effective governance methods across a matrix of teams.
- Analyze multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to propose and design data architecture solutions for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity.
- Set architectural vision and direction across a matrix of teams. Develop conceptual, logical and physical design for various data types and large volumes.
- Assist other architects in the design and implementation of high performance systems with large volume data integration processes, database, storage and provisioning.

**Your skills and experiences**
- Expertise and knowledge in Data Structures and Algorithms, SQL on Hadoop engines (e.g. Hive, Impala, Spark SQL) and OOP languages (like Java, C++, and Python). Knowledge in RDBMS, various NoSQL technologies and BI visualization tooling is a definite plus.
- Understanding of database theories, structures, categories, properties, and best practices.
- Excellent problem solving skills within an agile team & process culture; ability to identify inefficiencies, duplication and look at ways and means for simplification
- Good to have - Demonstrable expertise in Data (or BigData) Engineering e.g. designing, building, operationalizing, securing and monitoring data processing systems with a particular emphasis on security and compliance or developing data pipelines using Cloud native data technologies (Storage accounts/ CloudSQL/ BigTable/ BigQuery/ Dataflow/ Dataproc etc)
- Good stakeholder management and communication; ability to translate customer and product requirements into stable, sustainable and reusable solutions
