**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:
As a Knowledge Expert (KE) in a Client Focused role within BCG's Energy Practice Area and the Low Carbon Energy and Infrastructure Sector, you will work in a growing global team, contributing to client and knowledge work, based on deep domain expertise and institutionalized knowledge assets (products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, domain-specific data and related expertise, etc.). As a Knowledge Expert you will support proposals and cases as a domain expert helping drive strong impact with clients. While contributing to client cases and proposals, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / develop solutions.

Additionally, as a Knowledge Expert, you will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector, working in conjunction with business leaders, providing insights & advice for proposals and client workshops. You will lead development of intellectual property & assets for the business and mentor and guide junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.

BCG's Energy Practice Area helps companies navigate an increasingly complex business climate. Our focus areas are 'Integrated Energy Transformation' and 'Low Carbon Energy and Infrastructure', including all "green energy" sectors. We work with the full range of players in the industry: integrated international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), upstream players, oilfield service companies, refiners, petrochemical producers, and oil trading firms, integrated power and gas utilities, international power producers, renewable specialists, energy wholesalers and retailers, commodity traders, and infrastructure and industry service providers, water utilities and waste-management firms, governments, regulators, industry associations, NGOs, technology companies, OEMs and suppliers to the energy and environment industry, energy-intense heavy industry players.

**YOU'RE GOOD AT**:

- Leading problem solving and solutioning for clients and driving towards pragmatic solutions tailored to the business context
- Driving client development efforts, ranging from supporting proposals, ongoing client discussions, or workshops
- Engaging with senior stakeholders and client team members - owning client conversations, demonstrating expert presence and credibility
- Leading projects in a highly effective manner with ability to orchestrate team resources to meet goals
- Acting as a highly effective coach and mentor, guiding team members and junior colleagues
- Working in an ever changing and complex environment, and comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a fast-paced environment

**YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)**:
- In lieu of consulting experience, 7+ years minimum industry experience required; 10-14+ years of industry strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
- Deep expertise and experience in power sector and its trends, including topics like business models in renewable energies, decarbonization, and regulation
- Excellent analytical skills
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and client handling skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment
- Self-starting and entrepreneurial spirit
- Fluency in English; other languages valuable (e.g., German)

**YOU'LL WORK WITH**:
As a Client Focus KT, you will work face to face with clients and with BCG Project Leaders, Associates and Consultants. In the period between projects, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. Our team is made up a diverse pool of knowledge positions that allow us to pursue exciting, innovative knowledge careers.

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**:
The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.

BCG's Knowledge Team members are staffed on projects and help co-create insights with projects teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the Practice Area’s business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
