**Your tasks**:

- Developing the processing workflows for integrating lakes onto the Hydrography90m stream network
- Develop the processing workflow to delineate lake catchments
- Aggregate environmental information across lake catchments
- Create initial species distribution modelling approaches using fish and phytoplankton as response variables
- Preparing the documentation and examples for users

**Your profile**:
**Essential qualifications and experience**:

- A completed academic degree in freshwater ecology, geoinformatics (or equivalent)
- Experience in freshwater species distribution modelling and a solid understanding of the primary environmental drivers of freshwater biodiversity across scales
- An advanced knowledge in open-source geospatial programming using R, GRASS-GIS and GDAL/OGR using language integration
- Experience in contributing to a R-package

**Desirable qualifications and experience**:

- Experience in the geospatial integration or rivers and lakes
- Experience working in the Linux environment
- Experience in High-Performance-Computing and Big Data
- Knowledge of lake ecosystems is an asset

Salary is paid according to the German salary scheme for the public sector (TVöD Bund E13). The position is offered on a full time, fixed-term basis for one year. The position is principally suited for job sharing or part-time work with at least 19 h/week. Applications by job-sharing tandems are welcome.
