Starting from the earliest possible date, the Institute for Acoustics and Dynamics is looking for a

The position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for a period of 3 years. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.

As part of the work at the institute, efficient methods for the simulation of sound in buildings and aircraft are to be developed in collaboration with researchers from the fields of vibroacoustics and numerics. The focus here is on methods for high-dimensional parametric approximation, which can be combined with model order reduction approaches. Both data-driven and traditional approaches to surrogate modelling will be used, and adaptive approaches will be explored.

**Your tasks**
- Extension of existing approaches for adaptive combination of model order reduction and sparse approximation
- Development of multifidelity and physics-informed approaches to surrogate modelling for vibroacoustic problems
- Publication of research results and participation in (international) conferences
- Involvement in teaching at the University (preparation and implementation of courses as well as supervision of students’ work).

**Your Qualifications**
- You have a degree (Master’s or equivalent) in an engineering discipline, natural sciences or mathematics.
- You have very good knowledge of the German and English language.
- You have experience in experimental and numerical methods or are willing to familiarize with these
- You are flexible, can perform under pressure and work well in a team.
