**HFE Expert (M/F/d)**

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Drive, moderate and execute Human Factors / Usability Engineering (HF/UE) activities under the supervision of the senior Usability / HFE expert for the global Bayer Pharmaceuticals device portfolio in a timely manner as well as in compliance with internal procedures and applicable HF/UE industry standards and guidelines
- Ensure and establish that the user interfaces of medical devices, drug device combination products, and e health solutions under development are safe and effective to use in pivotal clinical trials and on the market
- Oversee exploratory/ethnographic research, as well as formative and summative HF/usability evaluations conducted with external HF service providers. Support qualification and monitoring of HF service providers
- Actively contribute and add the user s perspective to other device development activities, such as design inputs definition, use related risk analyses, ideation/evaluation of design solutions, and development of labeling/instructions
- Represent HF/UE in the assigned device development and life cycle management teams, in relevant Bayer governance committees, in agency and notified body interactions, as well as in audits and inspections
- Document HF/UE work results for design history files and submission dossiers
- Support continuous education of the Bayer Pharmaceuticals organization and continuous improvement of procedures, techniques, and tools, as they relate to HF/UE

**WHO YOU ARE**
- University degree in medicine, engineering sciences, ergonomics, psychology, or another relevant natural science
- Basic knowledge in statistics
- Proven leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills, personal independence and strong self-motivation
- Ability to work in ambiguous, changing global matrix environment, willing to embrace change and drive decision making
- Strong communication skills (in English and German, written and oral) to ensure that issues are clear to all involved parties. A matrix structure requires additional skills in gathering decision information, negotiation and communicating decisions and action as well as the skills for proactive resolution of conflicts and misalignments
