Kipu Quantum is a VC-backed quantum computing startup with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We develop proprietary enterprise software solutions for corporate users in finance & insurance, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and logistics. Our breakthrough technology gives quantum computers, a nascent technology the potential to solve intractable computational problems five years earlier than competing
approaches.

To build the world's largest and most precise quantum computing platform and be the first company that demonstrates quantum advantage with relevance to industry use cases to the world, we need motivated employees that help design both our present and engage with the future

Tasks

As an intern or working student (M/F/d) in Operations Research (OR) you will be part of our development team and work at the intersection of quantum computing and operational research, leveraging your skills in mathematical modelling, and optimization algorithms. This role offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical experience, allowing you to contribute directly to the success of our cutting-edge projects.
- Explore and implement classical heuristic algorithm to solve optimization problems in internal proof of concept projects
- Prepare clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings

and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management
- Contributeto the development of tools and software solutions to solve

optimization problem, leveraging your programming skills and
understanding of relevant technologies

**Requirements**:

- You are a student enrolled at a German university, pursuing

a bachelor's ( > 3 Semester), master’s or PhD degree in Operations
Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a
related field
- Strong mathematical background with knowledge of

optimization techniques, linear algebra, heuristic algorithms, and
probability theory
- Proficiency in programming in Python, with experience and basics of algorithm development
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail

and the ability to think critically and creatively
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts

clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
