The Institute for High Integrity Mechatronic Systems of the University of Applied Sciences Aalen searches for an:
**Academic Employee / PhD student (f/m/d) 23-02-01**
- Part-time 50% (19,75 h/week) to full-time 100% (39,5h/week)
- **Your tasks**:

- Within the Arkopy project, funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg, we are researching, together with partners from industry and orthopedic technology, an active knee exoskeleton to support patients. We are researching novel innovative actuators for a lightweight, safe and efficient exoskeleton. An anatomical leg simulator will be developed to verify technical parameters and demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness.

**Your profile**:
We are looking for **dedicated graduates and students** from the fields of mechatronics, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering who would like to research and work independently in a team. We offer a unique topic in which aspects of biomechanics, medical technology, design, control engineering and power electronics are intertwined In addition, we support particularly committed **students with the intention to pursue a doctorate**, whether through the proven **research master's program** (Advanced Systems Design), or with a **master's degree already completed**.

**Possible PhD topics**:

- Development of an anatomical leg simulator for verification of an active exoskeleton.
- Design and integration of an electromechanical actuator for active exoskeletons.
