The division for Physiology and Modeling of Auditory Perception at the Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics, University of Oldenburg, Germany, seeks **as soon as possible** a motivated

**Research associate (M/F/d) in the field of psychoacoustics and auditory processing**
(salary according to TV-L 13, 75%)

The position is limited for three years, and doctoral thesis work can be based on it.

The work to be assigned to the research associate is aligned with the long-term goal of the group, namely, to understand and describe normal and impaired auditory perception based on its physiology as well as on first principles. Specifically, on the fundamental front, a more detailed investigation of tone-in-noise detection is envisaged. In addition, the appointed researcher is expected to collaborate within the cluster of excellence “Hearing 4 all” (which is partly funding this position) to work towards a generalized auditory profile by integrating modern data science into audiologic research.

An academic university degree (master or equivalent) in hearing technology & audiology, physics, electrical or biomedical engineering, or a related discipline is required. Furthermore, applicants must have solid knowledge in at least two of the following domains:

- auditory processing
- psychoacoustics
- scientific programming in Matlab or Python
- signal processing and systems theory
- research data management.
