**About the Venture**

Founded in 2022, zero44 is a dynamic maritime B2B SaaS start-up with a mission to drive the shipping industry towards a sustainable future. We specialize in developing digital tools aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the shipping sector, aiding it to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Our products focus on regulatory compliance, particularly in the realm of carbon intensity and emissions trading, and are designed to navigate the complexities of global environmental regulations.

**This position can be full-time or part-time.**

**About the Role**

We are currently seeking a finance associate to join our team. This role could be full-time or part-time depending on what you are looking for. We're looking for somebody who has made their first experiences with finance and accounting and is passionate about sustainability and eager to contribute to an industry undergoing a significant transformation.

As a Finance Associate at zero44, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our founders on managing the company's financial health. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping our financial strategies, operations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including accounting, finance, and bookkeeping.
- Utilize and understand various accounting software solutions to streamline financial processes.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports and analyses.
- Work closely with the founders to develop and monitor budgets, financial plans, and forecasts.
- Implement financial controls and processes to ensure efficiency and transparency.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate financial management with overall business strategy.
- Drive initiatives to optimize cost and improve financial performance.
- Contribute to the company’s commitment to sustainability through effective financial management.

**About You**
- You've gained your first professional experience in accounting and finance and are eager to jump into a high-growth role with ownership and impact
- You have a good understanding of accounting software solutions and are comfortable in utilizing technology to improve financial operations / or have an eagerness to learn
- You are highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy in financial reporting.
- You have excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across departments and presenting financial information clearly.
- You are proactive, independent, and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- You are passionate about sustainability
- Fluency in English is essential. German is a plus.
