**Your role**
Can you deliver accurate and timely financial information? Do you want to play the role of a trusted advisor using your accounting expertise?
We're looking for a financial accountant to:
- make sure the financial information and accounting for the Nassau branch businesses is complete, accurate and auditable
- produce various financial reports e.g. P&L, balance sheet, cost allocation reports, tax returns
- use appropriate controls throughout all financial accounting and reporting processes, to adhere to our accounting standards
- review, analyze and investigate variances, maintaining the general ledger
- support continuous improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, for example innovate through agile working and automation
**Your team**
You'll be working in the Legal Entity Finance team in Nassau, Bahamas. The Legal Entity Finance team is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting for the Wealth Management and Treasury & Issuance business units. The team processes all accounting entries in the local general ledger system, T24, and reports the financial statements and disclosures to Group Finance using PeopleSoft and other Group Financial Reporting systems. Legal Entity Finance is also responsible for the consolidated Regulatory and Tax reporting for Nassau Branch to local regulators. Additionally, the team provides the Accounts Payable function for the branch, which includes vendor invoice processing, cost allocations, business unit/entity recharges and Service Level Agreement management. The team also handles the Management Information and Client level reporting to Zurich for the Wealth Management private client business. Other responsibilities include monitoring of Sarbanes-Oxley controls, risk management, adhering to all local Governance requirements and managing various projects that impact Finance.
**Your expertise**
- professional Accountancy qualification and/or Accounting degree
- minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services
- in-depth knowledge of international financial markets and business culture in the Latin America region with a special interest in Brazil
- well versed in Swiss and Bahamian banking practices and standards
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- proven analytical and problem-solving skills
