About the Opportunity
**Job Type**: Fixed Term Contractor
Contract duration : 5 months.
Application Deadline: 18 December 2024
Please note that this is a 6 month part time (20h/week) Working Student role.
- Who we are
- We’ve been helping clients plan and invest for their futures for over 50 years. From more than 25 locations around the world, we provide investment services and retirement expertise to everyone from central banks to private individuals.
- We’re known for acting with integrity and thinking for the long-term. And across our organisation, we foster a welcoming, caring and inclusive culture where people feel respected, trusted and able to be themselves.
- The team you’ll join
- As an integral member of the European real estate team you will be working together with the local real estate investment management team in order to support the ongoing real estate acquisition and sales activities in Germany. You will be reporting to the German real estate country head who is also the fund manager of Fidelity’s flagship institutional FIREF Fund with around €1.5bn AuM which is the best-performing fund in its peegroup since launch in 2011.
- What you’ll be doing
- The team has invested in offices, logistics properties, light industrial estates, life science assets and DIY retail-warehouses as well as a large retail park over recent years across Germany. The portfolio returns have outperformed the MSCI market benchmarks regularly since fund launch. You will be working as a fully integrated team member and we can offer you following combined scope of work for the internship:
- Registration of all property offers which have been received in our digital deals database
- Support in special projects related to areas such as data dashboards, market research, ESG and sustainability
- The work on the ongoing acquisitions will be very project-specific and requires a generalist mindset with high flexibility as well as a close cooperation with the team. The work on the special projects will have a clearly defined scope and purpose.
- How you’ll be supported
- We don’t expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do. As a working student, and whatever you’ve studied, we’ll help make sure you get the most out of your time with us.
- You’ll start with a mini induction during which we’ll introduce you to asset management industry and our business. After that, there are many more ways to develop your skills as your progresses. Social and networking events will help you get to know our people and culture. All the while you’ll be learning on the job, working to clear goals and understanding your own potential.
- The difference you’ll make:
- As your skills and confidence grow, you’ll become more and more involved in making key decisions for our customers. You’ll help them invest and plan for the futures they want. You’ll provide invaluable support to your team, too.
- What we’re looking for
- It’s who you are that matters here, rather than what you studied. We look for working students (start date January 2025) who are great in a team, eager to learn and ready to take on a challenge. A genuine curiosity about real estate markets, assets and their fundamentals is vital, as is a lively interest in our work and the financial services sector. Strong analytical and organisational skills and a proactive working attitude are important too. And, as we’re an international organisation, we’ll need you to speak German and English.
- How to apply- As part of our commitment to inclusion, we are a disability-friendly company. As such, we would welcome a conversation with you if you feel you might benefit from any reasonable adjustments to perform to the best of your ability during the recruitment process and beyond.
