**ROLE DEFINITION**

The R&D Lab and Process Leader will be part of European Research & Development Team and report to EMEA R&D Leader. The person will be responsible for overall R&D Lab Management and transition of developmental products into Manufacturing phase.

Main Responsibilities:

- Overall lab management and leadership for the team of lab technicians including theircoaching and mentoring as well as resource planning
- Work with cross-functional teams to effectively implement new products from development lab through pilot to full scale manufacturing
- Proactively seek the opportunities for improvement of existing process technologies
- Plan, delegate to the lab technicians and analyze experimental work at laboratory, pilot and plant scale
- Increase fundamental understanding on process/property relationships for manufacturing of lubricants products
- Support manufacturing with technology improvement and critical troubleshooting
- Collaborate with experts in the field of process technology and key lab equipment vendors
- Be safety champion in all activities. Proactively seek for safety improvements. Assure that lab processes are compliant with local and safety guidance

Qualifications:

- A Degree (Master or PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical or Process engineering.
- Experience in the industry, experience in Coatings or Lubricants field is a plus.
- Experience working in the lab environment. Knowledge of laboratory guidance and safety regulations is a plus
- Experience in production environment is a plus
- People Leadership experience is a plus
- Fluent German and English is a must
