**Duties**
- Serve as an Inspector General with responsibility for responding to requests for IG assistance, conducting investigations, and planning and executing site visits for assistance.
- Evaluate and assess overall operations of organization by reviewing assistance and investigation activity in order to determine the overall effectiveness.
- Formulate recommendations to resolve problems found, coordinating with visited unit/activity and staff personnel for comments.
- Assess information and determines systemic problems.
- Prepare report of findings and develop briefing or executive summary for presentation to the CCDR, Deputy CCDR, Chief of Staff, and senior leaders in HQ USEUCOM.
- Conduct investigations and/or inquiry into complaints, allegations of fraud, improper conduct, and other situations where individuals assert, they have been wronged by a Department of Defense system.
- Provide Inspector General assistance to USEUCOM military and civilian personnel and their family members worldwide.
- Recommend appropriate action where necessary to resolve matters.
- Plan and conduct Inspector General (IG) assistance for United States European Command (USEUCOM).
- Serve as the office expert and authority for all functions related to IG assistance.
- Identify those areas offering the greatest payoff for IG activity and includes those assistance activities in an IG work plan for briefing to and approval of the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff.
- Identify costs and submits budget estimates (including contingency funding requirements) for those activities and for other support requirements.
- Assist in the planning and conduct of Inspector General inspections.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance/SCI.
- This position requires overnight travel for business and/or training approximately 20% of the time.

**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assistance and investigative methods to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations AND 2) conducting inspections, following up on findings, and recommending corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
