Site Operations Department
The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facilities Technicians (CFTs) working on shift. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guarantee of business continuity and excellence of Operations of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track maintenance activities, the Site Operations department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance. Position Overview
Essential Job Functions- Ensure the completion of the maintenance activities to the highest quality level- Work and support alongside the other Critical Facilities Technician team members with electrical systems- Conduct regular walkthroughs to keep up to date at all times the appropriate monitoring on site- Oversee and escort external vendors throughout the facility
Duties- In close collaboration with the other team members, participate in completing preventive maintenance scheduled for the site infrastructures and implement it in collaboration with all service providers concerned. Closely monitor the tasks with a continuous concern for minimizing risks during interventions, and ensure the reporting of this activity- Be capable of following instructions for manipulating/activating certain electrical and or mechanical infrastructures for the purpose of protecting people and property and/or maintaining service continuity on the site- Monitor very closely the capacities of the infrastructure equipment at their different levels and their load of use/demand, and report back to the Site Manager- According to the Site Manager's instructions, carry out this infrastructure reinforcement analysis well in advance (utilizing studies, quotations for implementation, project schedule, risk analysis, operating instructions, etc.)- Participate with the construction team to any site construction phase including the commissioning, and specifically to ensure service continuity to the customers- Actively contribute to all improvement actions in the site PUE- Proactively raise awareness of the need to increase the power level that is contractually agreed upon with the energy provider- Develop energy quality indicators as provided on behalf of infrastructures, by keeping appropriate records.- Ensure highest standards of cleanliness by adapting the ad-hoc services- Beyond the context of the technical infrastructures of the Data Centre area, manage all services/suppliers concerned and the external appearance of the building, working in coordination with its owner’s technical /operational departments- With the assistance of the IT and Controls departments, ensure the proper operation of the site’s BMS- Ensure that resources allow the infrastructure monitoring and efficient usage at all times- Support and monitor the maintenance service providers daily and keep up to date the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with Vantage requirements- Participate in regular audits which are designed to assess the level of service continuity and analyze risks
Job Requirements- Technical training and experience (apprentice, technician, or engineer level) in one of the following fields: electricity (generators, UPS/USV, low-voltage distribution, switchgears), air conditioning- Data Center experience, mission-critical environments, industrial buildings, or commercial buildings highly preferred- Knowledge in operating, performing preventiative/corrective maintenance, repairing, inspecting, or testing electrical systems (Experience in HVAC also a plus)- Reactivation of circuit breakers in low-voltage electrical equipment- Readings and measurements on equipment- Good communication
