Junior Data Centre Technician

We are looking for a Data Center Technician who will join our Hosting Team. You will support the Floor Manager of our Datacentre in the overall operations and maintenance of all equipment, both IT and facility within our Data Centre in Hamburg. This is your ideal opportunity to step into IT by learning about Hardware, management systems and ITIL processes.

What will you do?
You are Vattenfall’s front line when it comes to hands-on maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center facility equipment. This includes electrical equipment such as stand-by diesel generators, electrical systems that include switchgear and wet cell batteries, fire suppression systems, building security systems and general facilities equipment.

In relation to the IT equipment, you will be responsible for:

- Receiving new hardware as well as the removal of old infrastructure in a safe and controlled manner, in accordance with applicable security and technical guidelines
- Physical installation of Hardware and patch cables
- Guiding and coordinating work of suppliers by maintenance and incidents on IT and facility equipment ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs
- Maintenance the documentation - Rack plan, CMDB, Health and Safety instructions, security instructions
- Updating tasks and tickets in the ticketing system
- Performing changes on IT equipment on request of Vattenfall IT colleagues and keeping CMDB up to date

Location
The primary work location will be the Data Center in Hamburg (Germany). Some occasional support for our Data Centers in Berlin and Amsterdam will be required. On this occasional base (international) travel might be required.

**Profile**:
Who are you?
You are fluent in German and have good English skills, you like working with IT Hardware and have some electrical and mechanical know how and you are looking for a position where you will be working on solving technical problems of equipment.

Next to this you bring:

- ability to lift and/or move equipment on regular (daily) basis
- a learning attitude
- flexibility to work outside office hours, also on weekends occosiannly
