Could you be the full-time **Technical Author **for** Maintenance and Operation** in **Kassel** we’re looking for?

**Your future role**

You'll optimise existing maintenance and operational procedures, and you’ll develop maintenance tasks for new locomotive projects and platforms. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business like Mechanical and Electrical Integration, System-Engineering and Service division for creating comprehensive and user-friendly technical documentation for our rail transportation products and systems.

You’ll specifically take care of designing and implementing vehicle customer documentation and training materials for maintenance and operation of Locomotives, but also defining safety indications according to applicable standards to prevent product related safety risks.

We’ll look to you for:

- Autonomous creation of mounting/demounting instructions according to drawings and research on the vehicles
- Determination of mounting scenarios for the risk-free exchange of components
- Organize content in a modern Content Management System to realize a maximum reuse of information
- Independent implementation of customer requirements, including the requirements of the contracts
- Check maintenance records for the vehicle and for the systems for completeness and formal correctness
- Review of source data, as well as analysis and evaluation of the data stock within the Product Lifecycle Management system

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Relevant experience in railway vehicles in technical authoring, field service or maintenance of locomotives
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, technical writer (authoring and editing)
- Relevant experience working in a Content Management System
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance
- Desired competences: teamwork, problem solving, communication, building partnerships
- Fluent in German and English
