Faculty 1: Educational Sciences offers a permanent
**university professorship (W2 per LBesG, conferring with civil-service status)**
**for nursing didactics (M/F/d)**
at the Institute for Nursing Science, which is to be
filled as soon as possible.
The research profile of Faculty 1: Educational
Sciences comprises the five main areas of “System
and Organization”, “Difference and Heterogeneity”,
“Culture and Knowledge”, “Individual Development
and Change” as well as “Health and Resilience”. With
research and teaching closely attuned in teacher
training and non-teacher training degree programs,
the educational sciences contribute to elucidation
and knowledge generation for science and society at
large as well as in the regional context.
A new Institute for Nursing Science is being created
at Faculty 1, which primarily ensures teacher training
for vocational schools for the occupational field of
nursing in Rhineland-Palatinate and, in cooperation
with the other institutes and departments, develops
and implements new research and study priorities.
The professorship of nursing didactics complements
two professorships with a scientific focus and is thus
one of the cornerstones of the Institute of Nursing
Science. The professorship is responsible for the
conception, implementation and development of
teaching profession.
**Key responsibilities**:
The position holder will be responsible for
research and teaching.
He/she should have an outstanding track record in
the research of vocational education with a focus on
nursing didactics.
Research is expected to focus on vocational
education and training in the digital world.
Furthermore, a focus on cooperation with different
places of learning will be a plus. Applicants should
be able to locate their own research in relation to at
least one of the department's cross-institute
research areas.
In addition, active engagement in the acquisition of
third-party funding will be expected.
The position holder’s responsibilities will include
actively recruiting and developing young scientists.
The teaching load is currently nine hours per week
per semester.
Teaching is to be provided primarily in the teaching
methodology courses of the teacher training degree
specific courses that are especially relevant to
teacher training.
Administering with examinations in all degree
- programs in the field of nursing is also required.2
The willingness to cooperate across and within
disciplines and in general is a prerequisite,
particularly in the context of the Center of Teacher
Education.
It is also expected that the position holder will take
on responsibilities in academic self-government.
The position holder will be expected to play a
significant role in shaping the institute through
her/his own ideas and emphases and actively
generate initiatives that contribute to developing
teacher training.
**Recruitment requirements**:
The recruitment requirements of Section 49 of the
Higher Education Act (HochSchG) of the State of
Rhineland-Palatinate apply. The statute requires a
completed higher-education degree, a qualified
educational sciences or on a topic of teacher training
in general, pedagogical aptitude and additional
scientific achievements.
Positions in the teacher training degree programs
whose job description includes tasks in educational
to be filled whenever possible with applicants who
can demonstrate a minimum of three years teaching
experience at school.
Experience in acquiring and managing externally
funded projects is expected to be documented with
an overview of past third-party funding activities. A
research concept must also be presented.
Both good German and good English language skills
are required, as courses are offered in both
languages.
Special teaching skills and teaching experience are
required and must be demonstrated by presenting
a teaching concept.
