Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented AIT intern to help us in our mission by supporting the mechanical activities and potentially the launch campaign on our demonstrator capsule.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:

- Mechanical Procedures writing (for mech. activities, test and potentially launch campaign)
- Supporting the mechanical operations, including on propulsive system
- Supporting the Thermal Protection preparation and bonding
- Helping out on development of test setups on Nyx
- Supporting the qualification of pressurized vessel welding by preparing and testing samples

**Tasks**:
Your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

- You will be supporting the writing of the procedures detailing the mechanical and test operations for our current and next capsules.
- You will be supporting the mechanical operations on these capsules in Planegg and potentially in US
- You will be supporting the manufacturing and assembly activities related to mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE).
- You will perform basic machining operations like manual drilling, cutting, milling as required to prepare samples or ground equipment.
- You will contribute to our processes improvement with the lessons learns of the previous operations
- You will be supporting the procurement of new tools for our new generation capsule
- You may have to support the team in other factory setup for our new generation of capsule which is much bigger

**What we would love to see from you**:
In the role of Mechanical intern ideally, you will have the following:

- Studying for an Engineering degree (Master) in mechanical science or equivalent
- Willingness to contribute to the successful launch of our second demonstrator
- Hands-on approach
- Organised and rigorous
- Inventive and problem solver
- team spirit
