- In your role as “Specialist optical fiber modeling” you will be responsible for multi-physics simulations, primary for optical simulations such as FEM simulation of optical parameters (mode propagation, cut-off, attenuation, bending losses, dispersion,...) and modeling of new fiber designs (hollow core, multi core, single mode, multi-mode,...).
- You will simulate the material properties of our products including simulation of stresses in glass, crack formation and propagation and diffusion processes (in glass and porous materials).
- Another task is technology modeling of burners/flames, temperature distribution in furnaces and simulation of gas mixing processes.
- You will research scientific papers and patents on relevant topics and participate in conferences with own presentations.
- In addition, you communicate and cooperate with partners on a national and international level.
- You develop your own IP's or support IP development.

**Your Profile**:

- Successful completion of a science degree (physics,...), preferably PhD
- Proven knowledge of multi-physics simulation
- Knowledge of properties of quartz and other high-tech glasses as well as knowledge of optical fiber operation and preforM/Fiber fabrication
- Very good written and spoken English as well as German skills
- Very good knowledge of MS Office products
- Independent, goal-oriented, organized, and dedicated work coupled with a creative/innovative mindset and approach
- Excellent willingness to cooperate, clear result orientation as well as interest in cross-functional cooperation
- Ability to quickly grasp complex relationships and quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks
