Supply / Substitute Teacher in Secondary School

In our secondary school about 450 students are learning and preparing for the Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP final exams. Our excellent academic results benchmarked against the International Schools’ Assessment and the IGCSE and IB Diploma international examinations, are proof of the quality education we provide at Leipzig International School. The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools as well as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
**Your tasks and responsibilities**:
As the Supply Teache**r **you will be asked to cover in classes in secondary school for colleagues who are absent from school. Sometimes these will be planned absences for example when teachers attend professional development courses and sometimes they will be last minute when a teacher is sick.
- Create a safe and stimulating learning environment in which the students can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
- Keep a well-managed and safe arts classroom
- Provide authentic, formative feedback through which your students can improve their skills, knowledge and understanding plus develop their higher order thinking
- Contribute to the work of the Secondary School as a whole
- Engage in the life of the International School in this exciting city
**Your profile**:
A University degree in Education or comparable
- High competency in written and spoken English
- Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
- Experience of working in an internationally-minded and diverse school community is preferred
