Post Doc

**The Position**:
Within the Virus Therapeutics Centre at Boehringer Ingelheim you can be part of building our new and innovative pharmaceutical development platform of new therapeutic modalities.

This position offers the possibility to combine high-throughput compound screening technologies with upstream process development in interdisciplinary teams of research and development to drive the manufacturing of our first-in-class viral products for the benefit of our patients around the world.

This position is limited for 2 years.

***Tasks & responsibilities**:

- In your new role as a PostDoc, you will focus on the USP development of therapeutic viruses.
- Furthermore, you will acquire profound knowledge about the respective viruses in terms of virus structure and assembly and therapeutic modality by self-studying literature and connecting within our international network and interdisciplinary teams.
- With your expertise, you will interpret your data and report results in presentations and written reports regularly.
- Additionally, you will be part of Boehringer Ingelheim´s global postdoctoral community.

**Requirements**:

- PhD in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology or a comparable discipline
- Strong background in cell-based analytical assays for virus quantification and screening technologies/automation
- Hands-on experience in virus production and cell culture in S2 biosafety level laboratories
- Beneficially, expertise in virus-cell interactions and USP
- Team player with excellent communication skills Fluent English, written and spoken, very good German is a plus
