**Unser Profil**:
**About the Project**
A 36-month PhD position, is available at the department of Physical Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University under the supervision of Dr. Max Hohenschutz and Prof. Walter Richtering. The project involves the study of the responsivity to light, electrochemistry and pH of cellulose-based polymer solutions and gels that form by incorporation of superchaotropic nano-ions.
**Ihr Profil**:
**Ihre Aufgaben**:
Your project will focus on studying the tunability of solution properties of non-ionic cellulose ethers in aqueous solution in the presence of superchaotropic nano-ions, such as polyoxometalates and borate clusters, using electrochemical techniques, rheology and scattering methods and NMR. Nano-ion cellulose ether composites in water offer a promising platform for smart gels (Hohenschutz et al. _Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. _**2023 **), which will be investigated by you under UV-light, pH and electrochemical stimuli. You will present your research results at international conferences and publish in high-tier peer-reviewed journals.
