**Duties**:

- Plan, develop, and execute strategies for protection of high-ranking officials in protection operations.
- Lead and conduct intricate or delicate criminal intelligence analysis involving senior officials in support of protection operations.
- Analyze vulnerabilities in program and/or systems to be able to recommend corrective actions to the appropriate official in protection operations.
- Develop, coordinate and issue policies, procedures, and instructions regarding personal/high-ranking protection.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Must agree in writing to comply with management-directed permanent change of station movement to meet mission requirement.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Must qualify with and carry a firearm.
- Must meet qualifications outlined in the Lautenberg Amendments.
- Top Secret Clearance required.
- Position requires completion of SF-312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement.
- Drug testing required.
- Temporary duty travel will be required about 25% of the time.
- Physical examination required.
- Completion of CID Basic Special Agent Course, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) or recognized equivalent training.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

- **Specialized experience is defined as**:
**GS-09**: One year of specialized experience in conducting criminal investigations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
- **GS-11**: One year of specialized experience in planning, developing, and conducting major fraud criminal felony investigations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
- **GS-12**: One year of specialized experience in assisting in planning, developing, and conducting major procurement fraud investigations and providing investigative guidance to subordinate criminal investigators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
- **GS-13**: One year of specialized experience in independently planning, developing, and conducting major procurement fraud investigations and providing investigative guidance to subordinate criminal investigators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).

- **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**: May manage, plan, and participate in protective service missions, undercover functions such as surveillance and sting operations. Performance of these kinds of duties require: moderate, to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Incumbent must possess sufficiently good vision, with or without glasses, in each eye, in order that they may perform the duties satisfactorily. Near Vision, glasses permitted, must be acute for the reading of printed material the size of typewritten characters. The ability of incumbent to hear the conversational voice and whispered speech is required (any hearing impairment may be compensated by use of a hearing aid). Since the duties of the position are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, incumbent must possess emotional and mental stability.
