**Your tasks**:
- Scientific management of microscopes and support for scientific projects in the field of light microscopy
- Conducting independent research in the areas of light microscopy or biophysics
- Establishment of quantitative methods for studying biopolymers such as FRAP, FLIM, FRET, and FCS, as well as biophysical measurements using optical tweezers and label-free microscopy methods
- Initiation and leadership of a course on quantitative analysis methods for biopolymers
- Participation in research data management projects with a focus on storage, analysis, and archiving of microscopy data
- Ongoing further education in the latest microscopy techniques
**Your profile**:
- In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in - 57 of the
- _Hochschulgesetz_ of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- A successfully completed scientific university degree in life sciences, biophysics, physics, engineering, or other instrument-intensive disciplines
- Advanced degree (e.g., PhD) in the mentioned fields desirable
- Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: biochemistry, biophysics, optics, light microscopy techniques including widefield microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, FRAP, FLIM, FRET, FCS, optical tweezers, and label-free microscopy
- Scientific curiosity and the ability to approach complex biological problems experimentally
- Computer skills and experience in programming and image analysis are considered an advantage
- Physicists with a keen interest in learning cell biology or biochemistry, even without extensive knowledge in these areas, are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training will be provided.
- Strong self-organization skills
- High level of teamwork and a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Enjoyment in sharing knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner
- Fluency in English
